I have longed to have some lovely maternity photos while pregnant on the beach. It took me three pregnancies to finally do just that. I was so excited to team up with Robyn Swain for these beautiful captures of my last and final pregnancy with the family in tow. I wanted a lot of just me and bump as much as a few with each family member and bump. There would be no getting naked with a just a sheet around me or hubby refused to be kissing and snuggling the bump himself. It’s just not us. I wanted them to be able to go on our family wall at home and to cherish this last family addition together. I can’t wait to make a photo book as a keepsake to cherish forever
We are so excited for baby to arrive soon. The weather on the beach while still a little cold did us a nice favorite and the rain stayed away. Robyn is so great at getting the kids and even hubby comfortable for the photoshoot which I absolutely loved. We have had some interesting photographers in the past not even talk to my kids or help us setup photo poses where we had to work at getting the kids smiling and looking certain ways ourselves. It can be exhausting being in the photo and directing the photos at the same time. Robyn was amazing at coaching us where we needed it but keeping the photos candid and fun.
I have so many favorite to share with you and I will save our full family ones for our Me & Mine family project next week to share but here are a few that will definitely be printed and cherished on the wall. I hope little baby boy knows how much he is loved already by his two siblings. They are constantly talking to him, singing to him, reading to him, and just generally attached to my bump while we literally walk down the street. It’s been such a lovely experience having them a little older and understand what’s coming and be a big part of my pregnancy this time around.
I get emotional looking at my maternity photos. While I had a few done with each of my pregnancies, I just feel like these are extra special because they are documenting the completion of our family. This is the final family member joining us. We will be a family of five soon. I get giddy as I always wanted three kids. I always loved the dynamics that bigger families bring to each other. I love having siblings and I know my two will be great big role models too. They are so ready to be big protective siblings. I have a close bond with my siblings too. I hope the three of them will always be close growing up and into adulthood.
From experiencing indoor and outdoor maternity photoshoots, I can definitely say I prefer them outdoors, in more natural light. They don’t seem as stiff and uncomfortable. While I did my photos with bump, the kids ran wild on the beach after doing their own little photooshoot time slot. It worked better to do family ones first and let them have fun while I got some of the close ups done. I swear that’s key when having your family photos taken, plan for each one to lose patience and want it to be done. Take photos of the ones that get fed up the fastest, in our case, that’s Daddy. hahaha
I have to give a huge shot out to Robyn Swain Photography for doing such an amazing family session and maternity photoshoot on the beach for us. We will cherish these forever and can’t wait to add a new baby to our family. We look forward to doing more photoshoots with Robyn. If you live in the NorthWest area, I would highly recommend her for all your photo needs from family, maternity, lifestyle, candid, product and commercial photography needs. She is so down to earth and lovely to work with and really makes you feel so comfortable when doing your photos.
Love these. They’re so beautiful x
Oooh is that St Annes beach I spot!? I live in St Annes & love it. We moved from Scotland to here 4 years ago. Lovely photos! I had my last baby 5 months ago & wish I had some maternity photos taken. Best wishes for your new arrival. X
Yes it is, we love it there so much. We go often. I never did with my first two kids either so it was nice to do the last time.
