My last pregnancy had to be celebrated with those I love dearly both family and friends alike. Friends from all different parts of my life in England were brought together to help me celebrate my pending birth of my third baby. It’s always a little nerve racking to mix various friends that don’t know each other to a formal sit down meal. I wanted my guests to feel as spoiled as I would. I am so lucky to have so many in my life now after eleven years of living in the UK. I now have memories made here with all these people and friends that couldn’t make it too. They were all missed in the celebrations. I hope I have enriched their lives in the years I have known them as much as they have in my life.
There was one thing that stole the baby shower focus off the baby though and I have to say I am not surprised, which were my Baby Cupcakes. They were made my the most talented baker in Chorley, Caroline who runs Vanilla Iced Cakes from her home. If you see her on instagram you will know immediately the amazing cakes she makes but these baby cupcakes just made the baby shower the event of the year! It was the first thing everyone talked about when they walked in and the last thing everyone hovered over ready to take their very own baby cupcake home. I thought it was the perfect party favor.
So I decorated the room full of baby cupcakes from Vanilla Iced cakes. I didn’t need many other baby shower decorations with these cuties on a few tables throughout the room. Even though we were eating afternoon tea, full of cakes, I thought what better way to get people to remember the special day than taking a Baby home from a Baby Shower. We are having a little boy so opting for the super heroes and baby boy characters. They were a tribute to baby boy coming soon. Caroline even does baby girl versions of these cupcakes which are stunning too. Having a mix meant the people could choose their favorite characters and most I think took them home to share with their kids. I didn’t share mine and it didn’t even make it home, I can happily admit.
The fluffy white cake and frosting was right up my street. I have always had an obsession with cupcakes myself. Not a cake fan but cupcakes are my go to treat. You can see why I didn’t mind them stealing the show here. The detail on these edible babies on top are just amazing too. I am still wow’ed by Caroline’s designs.
Guests were drooling over the baby cupcakes as much as they were having fun mingling before we sat down for afternoon tea. As much assigned seating isn’t fun, it really worked out for my group of lovely ladies. People that didn’t know anyone I sat together that I thought would really get along. I think even numbers were exchanged between a few who made a new friend. That is so very special to me. I just was overwhelmed by the love and support these ladies give me each and every day.
It’s been a long pregnancy with a lot of health issues and challenges along the way. Most of these women have been there to keep me going and help me out when I needed it most. I can’t thank them enough for it all. We are all very excited for baby boy’s arrival soon.
I do think I need one more of these baby cupcakes though…. these two super heroes were just too cute to eat.
“WHICH IS YOUR FAVORITE BABY CUPCAKE CHARACTER?”
The venue was stunning too. I scoped out long and hard for a venue that felt intimate. A place where I could be around one table with all my closest friends and family. I hate when it’s broken circle tables for a big group. You never know where to sit and it’s hard to talk to everyone that comes. I always have this overwhelming guilt when I haven’t said a word to a guest that might be sat on the opposite side of the room. I guess that’s always the case with events but I made sure with this gorgeous room at Beeston Manor we could chat across the table and end to end without feeling too much like I was shouting across the room. I sat in the middle to make sure that was easier. I hope my guests really enjoyed themselves as much as I did. The venue is one I highly recommend as they have bigger rooms at Beeston Manor for all kinds of celebrations like Christenings and Weddings too. They were great price and really nice to work with. (not being paid to say that either) hahaha.
I am relieved baby boy decided to stay put as I was cutting it close to my due date. The weather decided to brighten up for the special occasion too. It was so good to catch up with so many I haven’t seen in awhile. I really felt like the luckiest girl ever and was completely spoiled. The afternoon tea was delicious, I think I could have ate about three of them at this point in my pregnancy. Gluttony has set in. It’s a special day I will cherish forever even if Baby Cupcakes stole the show at my Baby Shower. They were worth it too.

Thank you Caroline, Beeston Manor and to all my guests that attended.
