BritMums Live, Inspiration, and Solo Parenting #littleloves

Happy Friday Everyone! I am a few hours late with my #littleloves roundup this week. Apologies. I am solo parenting since yesterday morning until Monday evening. I think somehow it always falls like this with Mr P away when the kids’ social calendar is jam packed full. We have four different places to be tomorrow between 9am – 4pm, just typing that makes me tired. Sunday is no different. I say yes to things and put them in my diary and then when I glance at what we have scheduled for the weekend, I realize it’s packed. Oops.

It seems the lead up to the end of the school year is super busy too. We have had the summer fair to prepare for with baking, bringing in various items, donating toys. We also leave in a few weeks to America for the whole summer so that’s coming up quick and preparing for that is always a big job too. I noticed though when we have a lot on, I seem to work through my “to do lists” faster. Do you do that too? What I mean is, on weeks there isn’t a million things going on every day, I tend to look at my list and think, oh I can do that and that tomorrow instead of today. I put things off more because I know I have time the following day to work on it or do it. But when I am super busy, I know I don’t have time so I work my way through the day’s list without skipping things and just pushing myself to get it done. I am feeling a sense of accomplishment in my crazy, busy schedule at the moment. I am taking that positive feeling and praying the rest of the weekend follows suit. Wish me luck. I might be singing a different tune come Monday!littleloves

THINGS I AM LOVING THIS WEEK:

Now that I am not reading hundreds of blog posts on Share With Me (although I do try to keep supporting my loyal linkers) I am enjoying reading a lot more interior and food blogs. It’s reiterated how much I love writing about both of those and haven’t had the time to do so lately. I am making goals to do more of these two categories this summer. Posts like these food and interior posts will have you baking and shopping in no time. They have been inspiring me this week to get back to it.

Did you hear MM turned 3 years old? I know, I can’t believe it either. I started this blog when she was four weeks old and now she is three. I look at her and feel like she grew up way too fast on me and that she never really was a baby for long. Seems that’s the case with second and third children, doesn’t it? You can catch my tribute to my little girl for her third birthday celebrations or a little video below of our family day together. She asked for no party so no party is what she got. I think it goes down as one of my favorite family days ever.

It’s June’s Little Love roundup where I share more of each category and what we have been up to. I have been vlogging our monthly roundups so if you have missed them do catch up with February, March, and April’s little loves vlogs too. Would love a thumbs up if you have the time too!

I have had the opportunity to attend BritMums Live this past weekend which was so good, thanks to my sponsors Bobux Shoes. I have been a few years in a row now but this year was my favorite. It’s easier to go when you know more people attending and know more about blogging. I have to say my very first one, I had only been blogging about 6 months and didn’t know anyone or what I was even doing. It’s save to say it gets easier and more fun. I scooped up this dress for the event above from New Look. It’s the most comfortable dress ever with a silky feel to the material and pockets. Who doesn’t love a dress with pockets. Other than that it’s been my casual, comfy clothes as the weather as been horrible and even cold too. I pulled out my blazers and sweaters again along with my new favorite Netflix shirt. wore2Even though the weather hasn’t been very nice out the family seems to be in full shade mode. MM is known for never taking her Little and Fierce sunglasses off. As her stock pile grows though, B and Mommy end up borrowing her other ones when she isn’t wearing them. It’s great they fit all of us. We will be rocking them all summer long in America I can’t wait.

I have been making my garden sparkle with vibrant yellows and blues. It’s been all about making the grass as green and perfect as possible along with painting these pots to brighten up the patio. I was hoping for a lovely summer as it’s my first July ever spent in the UK since I moved here and sadly I think the rain is here to stay. But just looking out of my sliding glass doors and see these bright pots actually does make it look nice even in the rain. PintyPlus Chalk Spray Paint Styling the Seasons

Don’t worry doesn’t mean I haven’t been in the kitchen. I actually have five recipes I need to edit photos for and write up for you all. This summer, I really want to push more of my food styling and recipes here on LTM. I hope all of you will enjoy them. They are fun to make, easy ingredients and ones the whole family can enjoy together. I am no gourmet chef but I love sharing food combinations that make dinner fun and desserts to drool over.

Maybe of you might have saw on instagram I was in Portugal with James Villa Holidays for my very first villa holiday experience. It both changed my whole perspective on villa life and holidays verses hotels. I was in complete heaven that is until I took a little fall on a steep incline and got five stitches in my face. But that’s besides the point, the stitches are out, the scar is healing and I am ignoring that slight moment of bad judgment on my part and reliving my Northern Portugal fun over and over. I can’t wait to take the whole family there soon. I never would have pin pointed it for a family holiday but definitely a place to explore and share a beautiful culture with the kids. Let’s not forget all that wine and port to taste for the adults, too.

  3. Happy birthday MM (she’s 2 months younger than my eldest). Sounds like a busy weekend but I too get more done when busy/time pressed. The weather is ridiculous, at least you have your summer in the US to look forward to. Portugal looked lovely.

    • Thanks Claire, yes I won’t complain too much because I do get those hot America summer days ahead of me guaranteed! lol Ahh didn’t realize they were so close in age. Fun age isn’t it? We had such a great family day and I am kind of glad it was just us and not a huge party to be honest.

  5. Love your New Look dress, it looks so stylish yet comfortable. MM looks so cool in her shades, glad she had a great birthday bless her. She’s so adorable! Your Portugal video is great, I was watching it the other night. We always meant to go to Portugal when we were living in Spain and never got round to it, so think it’s going to have to go on the bucket list! Hope you have a good weekend despite all the rushing around x

    • Oh thanks babes, it’s always a bonus when a dress looks nice and feels even better on. I will definitely be wearing it a ton this summer. Portugal was amazing wish I was better at filming without the shaking parts. I really need to work on it. Doesn’t feel like I am moving that much while I am doing it until I upload it and it’s all over the place. lol 😉 But practice makes perfect right? Definitely put on the bucket list it’s an amazing place. I want to go back soon with the kiddos in hand.
