Luxury vinyl flooring, such as grey parquet flooring, can come in all shapes, sizes, colours, and textures – but the one thing that is not different is the overall quality it provides.
Vinyl flooring is known the world over for providing not just the luxurious looks of a home – but also a safer investment for the future. If having a longer lifespan is not enough, the relative ease in keeping it in perfect condition with very little maintenance certainly tips in its favour.
What is LVT?
Luxury vinyl flooring (also known as LVT) is a hard plastic plank or tile that perfectly and effortlessly imitates any type of flooring.
It looks exactly like the real thing, no matter if it is wood or stone, ceramic or otherwise. They look so real that anyone can be fooled that it is not a genuine article. On top of all this, it is the perfect insulator also for sound and heat.
When it comes to vinyl flooring, there are many brands, with Invictus flooring being a hot-selling favourite for this year.
How to Maintain Its Appearance?
In comparison to other flooring options such as carpets or real hardwood flooring, luxury vinyl flooring is a much easier and quicker way to keep your floors looking how they should.
With a regular sweep of the floor with a household brush, you can remove all dirt and dust and simply dispose of it in preparation for the next phase – mopping the floor. This can be done with simple warm soapy water or brand-approved floorcare products so as not to affect the warranty. As little as a few mops, a month can keep your floor healthy and looking fantastic.
If you want to go a bit further and apply a deep clean to your floor to keep it in the very best appearance, you can use an approved floor stripper once or twice a year. You will need to redress it with the brand’s flooring dressing and ensure that all dirt and marks from the flooring are gone before layering the LVT.
Help to Prevent
Other methods can be undertaken to ensure your flooring is maximised in appearance and care.
By using protective felt pads under the feet of furniture you can avoid scratch marks and scuffs that are quite deep, especially for those heavy sofas and chairs that drag around the floor whilst cleaning. You may buy new furniture over time, so It’s wise to ensure that furniture contact areas are wider to spread weight.
No matter which selection of luxury vinyl flooring you opt for, you will have to consider these options to best secure your future flooring looks good and lasts for a few decades.
