Used cars can be very good investments if you buy them at the right age, get the most out of them during your period of ownership and then sell them on before they depreciate in value too much. That said, some people understandably worry about safety. What should you do to make sure a used car you’re thinking about buying is safe?

Buy From a Dealer
Wherever you live, you should not take what a seller of a used car says at face value. Private sellers may often seem like the least expensive option when buying a pre-owned car but you will have very little comeback if there turns out to be a fault with a car you’ve bought from one. Reputable dealers on the South Coast, however, tend to offer a great deal more honesty, especially when it comes to safety. A good example is KAP Motors which offers pre-inspected second-hand cars with easy financing options. Visit KAP Used Car Dealers Brighton to learn more.
Check Out the Vehicle’s History
You can tell a lot from looking at a car but not until you are behind the wheel will you be able to ‘feel’ if there are any problems. Does the car pull to one side? Is it making excessive noise? Do the brakes squeal when you apply them? All of these things may be safety issues. Look for signs of wear and tear on the seatbelts, too.
Never Buy Without Driving

Have the Car Independently Assessed
Any not have a qualified mechanic check the car you want to buy before committing? If the seller has nothing to hide, then he or she shouldn’t feel the need to object, after all. Doing so might set you back a few pounds but it can be worth it for peace of mind alone.
