I have been a little missing in action with my weekly roundups. I have a million and one excuses for it too. Kids have been sick, I have been sick, the house seems to need tidying and cleaning more than usual, our family calendar has been packed of social events, parties, traveling, sports, school events, doctors appointments to the point I feel like a taxi mom, and the honest truth I am finding it hard to focus, stay motivated, and keep driving myself to be better.
I can’t quite pin point if it’s the nice weather making it hard to sit at my desk and be creative. Or if it’s the changing of some of my social media and less readers engaging as much as they used to that has been in the slumps. After blogging for almost three years now and seeing my own patterns and patterns of other bloggers it seems the run into summer and actual summer time it seems to slow down a lot, go more quiet and harder to drive people to my space and my social media. I hope it’s because they are too busy playing with their families and in the sunshine. The funny thing is I have so much to write about at the moment, I am just struggling for time. I have over 15 drafts ready to be created and published and I find myself trying to make 30 minutes here or there for it and something ALWAYS comes up and it gets pushed down the “to do” list again. Do you ever feel like you are in a sea of to do’s and just don’t know where to start. Normally I am really organized so hopefully I pull myself back together and get back to doing what I love so much and that’s blogging.
I have just started reading Making It Up As I Go Along by Marian Keyes. I think it’s the perfect easy read for me right now while my head is currently in the clouds. Reading is always great for the little escape and following someone else’s thoughts but sometimes when your head is full of other stuff reading a deep book isn’t always a good idea. Those are the times you end up reading the same page 10 times before giving up because you can’t concentrate. So far it’s a funny, and informative on the beauty side of things that I can really relate to it.
Have you heard the good news??? I am a little late to share the news but I am so excited to be a finalist in the 2016 Mad Blog Awards for Lifestyle and School Days categories. What an honor and I can’t thank so many of you for supporting me, encouraging me and teaching me along the way. If you haven’t already don’t forget to vote before it’s too late. Would love your support for lifestyle as it truly fits my blog style and topics but any support is always welcome. 🙂
The one thing I have been doing is keeping up with my vlogging, here is the latest of our family adventures and there will be my monthly #littleloves roundup next week. I hope you will swing by and give it a thumbs up and let me know what you think. I am striving to improve my filming and editing so any tips please send them my way.
You would think I have a lot more than one capture for my fashion section this week beings I have been missing for a few weeks. I am all about spilling the truth today I haven’t taken any in the last few weeks. I have been either in winter boots and coats which I am so sick of wearing that I don’t bother or it’s so nice and sunny I am out in it and forget to share. This little number is my absolute new favorite dress. I found it on ebay for £10 plus shipping and it’s thick enough to keep me warm from that wind we get so much but sleeveless to catch the sun. It’s like wearing a comfortable long tank top. Why can’t we live in summer dresses every day?
I am truly in love with making homemade breads at the minute. They taste so much better than store bought without all the added “crap” and more fresh. This week I create the best “sweet bread” I have ever made. Its a whole new world of making breads when it comes to sweet bread because it doesn’t taste like cake and the sweet flavors added to the fluffy, bread texture is a great combination. My first attempt at Dark Chocolate Coconut Sweet Bread came out deserving five golden stars. Recipe is up on my blog tomorrow in time to celebrate Real Bread Week but here is a sneak peak.
It is with sadness but excitement that Share With Me will be moving to a new home on June 1st. It’s been an amazing linky to love, cherish and get to know people through. I have enjoyed reading all the amazing blogs for the past three years and the support I have received through it has been amazing. I hope you all will still stop by and have a read when the reins are passed but also keep linking up with the new hostess, Mummy Fever, as she takes on the role of host. Please help support her and keep Share With Me blog hop alive. I would hate to see it stop with me.
Linking up with Coffee Work Sleep Repeat for #LittleLoves
Ah Jenny. It’s so hard isn’t it to find time to blog sometimes, what with life, kids and everything else. Like you, I’ve definitely noticed a shift in the blogging world of late. Less people seem to be commenting on the blog but will share on social media and some days – particularly over the weekend – my stats are super low! Things are definitely shifting.
But don’t worry, those ideas of yours won’t go to pot. Just keep them until you’ve got some spare time and return all guns blazing. The book sounds ace, must invest, you look lovely in the dress (bargain!) and a huge well done on the awards. You had and will get my vote. x
Thanks Katie you are too kind and sweet to me. I definitely think there seems to be a big shift in the way things are working online and you see it with social media changing all the time too. It’s gearing more for businesses to advertise all the time instead of people engaging with others online as much. Everything seems to be scheduled and styled and a purpose instead of normal everyday chatter for the sake of it. Comments are less does this mean people care less I don’t think so I just think they have less time. We are constantly trying to put pressure on ourselves and add way too many things to our to do list everyday. It’s frightful. Hoping the refocus and new strategies to a few things will help me.
Such a sweetheart vlog, I adored Mms little legs bless her on the bike and oh her pig tails cute. Oh my dear I know you will get your mojo back, I think when babes are in school, nursery, what with meetings and appointments things all get over whelming and its hard to keep going, sometimes sitting back refocusing and taking it easy helps a great deal. Sending hugs xx
Thanks Nicola, yes the calendar could do with slowing down just a little bit for me a few days a week. hahaha My fault really try to do it all and all by myself too. Typical. I am trying to refocus and put a few strategies in place too.
That dress is gorgeous and looks so comfy. I completely understand about life coming before blogging – sometimes everything just happens at once! x
It really is so comfortable. I love it to throw on for the school run on a warmer morning. Bargain buy those are always the best. Thanks Donna.
It is so hard getting back into it when we are having a slump, but I am sure you will be back with your mojo shining brightly. It can’t have been an easy week as I know you have been suffering with sickness. I love your dress Jenny and oh my your bread looks delicious x
The bread came out delicious too. I love homemade bread, it makes the whole house smell so yummy too. Thanks hun I think sometimes a refocus is needed. 🙂
I know how you feel about finding time and motivation. There always seems to be so many things to do at home. I have all these ideas in my head and then the time just slips away.
Your sweet bread looks yummy. I can’t wait to read about it.
Have a lovely week.

Wouldn’t it be nice if we could have more hours in the day. Hours for our family, hours for work, and hours for ourselves all separately but equal amount of time. I think I need 72 hour days instead of 24 hours. hahaha
I totally understand about the blogging lull.. It’s definitely hard to keep up momentum when it’s so nice out! Love the dress! So sorry you have all been ill, but I’m glad to see you back! Have a wonderful weekend xx
Thanks lovely I am hoping my little strategy and stepping away from other projects and refocusing will help me. Good to be back on #litteloves
I wish I could wear little summer dresses, that looks perfect just to throw on and run.
I know what you mean about all the drafts. I’ve got titles and topics for about 50 posts, and about 15 written, but just not enough days to post them. and I’m trying to get another niche blog launched but that’s taking ages to get round to progressing it because I want to get it right up front. But Summer blog reading’s definitely kicked in – mine’s been going down drastically since Feb/March.
Wouldn’t it be nice if we had a solid week just to write those posts and have them scheduled so we were always ahead of ourselves. hahaha I would love that. Never happens something always comes up and they get saved in drafts forever.
Life should come before blogging! I’ve binned off a load of drafts recently as a bad job so I’m starting fresh and I feel lots better for it. I love your little black dress and are they Michael Kors shoes I spy!? Very nice x
