Gearing up for Christmas #littleloves

Last updated on May 5th, 2024 at 02:50 pm

The first of December…what better day to gear up for Christmas? Our trees are up and the house is decorated. Yes, I did just say, “trees” as in plural. We have three six foot Christmas trees up this year. Nothing compared to our five last year which was a bit much but so festive. I love one in each room we frequent from our dining room while we are eating to our living room to the kids’ playroom. The kids wanted one in each of their rooms, while I really wanted to do it, I still have a fear of lights catching fire or them turning them on all night. I am a safety girl.

Christmas is my favorite holiday and December is my favorite time of the year, and not because it’s my birthday and holds Christmas but because the globe goes merry. There is a magical and positive buzz wherever you go from people all around you. The kids get giddy, and everyone thinks about what to get each other and not just about themselves. It’s a special part of the year to celebrate. I love going all out for it.

It also means it’s a very busy time of year and the weekends just seem to all blur together and I feel like I can’t keep up. More so this year than any other because I am also pregnant and tired. With parties, dinners out, friends wanting to meet up, kids parties, school festivities galore, there isn’t a weekend we just have lying around the house in our comfies lately. I think the next weekend I have nothing on and no huge work deadlines is the weekend of the 24th…that’s Christmas weekend. EEEK. I know I really must slow down but isn’t that what January is for?

THIS WEEK I AM LOVING…

I am failing miserably and for months I have done so well but the nights have been full of work and not pleasure reading time. By the time it’s bedtime I can’t even keep my eyes open for one chapter. I did read two chapters while my kids had their Spanish lessons this week but that’s as far as I got. I can vouched that Wilde Like Me so far is a great book almost over half way through it now. I am looking for sci-fantasy genre for my next book perhaps a book series if you know any good ones, please comment below.

Other than that I have been reading loads of new pregnancy blogs on my new linky, BUMPS & BABIES. If you know any blogger or vlogger that is pregnant or had a baby in the last year please pass me their names so I can see if they want to join. It’s only just started so it’s slow but I would love more to come share their baby journey with me.

I am testing out the new capabilities of this high tech gadget called the Sony Xperia XZ1. Have you heard what it can do? Well, check out my first impressions and how far it will be taking my photos and videos for the better. Think awesome slow motion action and photos that catch those eyes open on both kids at the same time. OH YES!

I am on bump watch, are you? I am almost 16 weeks now. The bump is definitely out to shine and stretching all my clothes. We had a Ball to go to Friday night and I didn’t think my bump would be as big already at this point so I didn’t buy a new dress that I bought pre-pregnancy for this Ball. Let’s just say Mr P watched me squeeze as best I could into a very beaded, very tight dress. Between my bump and my boobs growing at rapid speed there was no room for dancing or movement. You can catch my recently bump watch update for 15 weeks pregnant here.

I wore my new beaded pompom hat to the Christmas markets in Manchester this week. It was absolutely freezing but it wasn’t raining so I am not complaining. I will be sharing my market experience and why I was there with a group of bloggers next week but I loved this twinkling festive snap in front of the tree. Did I say already how much I love Christmas. What’s the holidays without some amazing sparkly boots to wear with some party dresses and dressing up your everyday wear too? Come check out these three beauties below that I have styled here for some ankle boot holiday fashion.  Which one would you put on your feet for a festive treat?

I have a thing for making things for my guests when they come stay with me. It could be as tiny as some chocolates on your pillow or a huge gift box if you are staying longer or during a holiday celebration to make you feel comfortable and at home. I had so much fun putting this gorgeous Christmas Gift Box together for friends staying over this Christmas. It’s our first Christmas with the kids in England so we want to make it extra special.

  4. I keep saying to the Mr I want another tree in my kitchen, he isn’t keen on having one as it is (we’ll call him Scrooge), but I’m thinking if I keep the trees coming he might eventually get into the festive spirit. Love that dress on you and those boots are beautiful! Have a great week x
