I don’t know about you but the first thing I do to get ready for the holidays is get our family Christmas cards ready to be sent out at the beginning of the festive season. This year, we are excited to team up with Rosemood who have created these gorgeous, personalised Christmas cards for us. We couldn’t be more pleased how pretty they came out (photos of the quality doesn’t do it justice) they are SO lovely.
It’s one of our traditions to write out the Christmas cards together as a family. The kids love the Merry Xmas stickers to seal them when they are done addressing them. I love that they want to help Mommy and it makes the cards more special when family receive them with the kids’ handwriting on them not mine. I pop some popcorn and we watch a Christmas movie after making a huge festive fuss out of preparing for the holidays.
It really kick starts our holiday season. It might take us a few days to get them all written out, addressed, sealed and sent. It’s a big deal when we get to take them all to the post office because I let the kids put them in the mailbox, one by one. It’s a long process but for some reason they absolutely LOVE it. I often wonder how long I can keep these elves helping me do this.
You can see above, they got right to work writing out … Dear Family. They both wanted to write a happy message in each one. B definitely is more wordy than his sister but she is great at folding and sealing them away in the envelopes. It’s a good production line process. We are all about team work!
This year they wanted to put their new Christmas sweaters on and some Christmas music. Who am I to say no to that? Like their mother, they absolutely love anything festive and Christmasy. Is Christmasy even a word? It is in this house!
It may be only the start of November and we still have Thanksgiving upon us soon but it’s never too early to start preparing for Christmas. I love it when I walk into a shop and the Christmas music is playing. I definitely think it’s getting earlier and earlier every year. Maybe it’s because I was born at Christmas time (boxing day baby right here folks) why I love it so much. It’s in my blood.
The card paper of the Christmas cards is such high quality and you get a few options to choose from. You can customize the font, text, color, personalize it to your hearts content. The stickers you can also customize. I made ours say Merry Xmas but you can put whatever you want on them. Seal them with a happy phrase or just a heart. The envelopes seal nicely. We have had envelopes in the past that just wouldn’t stay sealed and had to tape them shut. Since most of ours fly abroad to America, Ireland, Spain and France we need reliable and durable Christmas cards to make those journeys.
What child doesn’t love putting stickers on things?
So what do I do once my little elves finish off the family Christmas Cards?
We start making that Christmas gift list. The kids love getting the toy catalog in the mail and going through it page by page, marking what they want to put on their own Christmas lists. Then we make a big column and write down people we need to buy for like Grandma, Granny, and Granddad. It’s funny to hear what they want to buy their grandparents at times. It can be as thoughtful and good as perfume or a new sweater to silly putty and marbles that aren’t so useful to an adult. We usually like making them a photobook of the kids for that year for each of them.
We made this gorgeous Walt Disney World photobook for Daddy this time. We took a special trip to Florida this year which turned out to be Daddy’s favorite holiday ever. (ours too, we can’t wait to go back). It’s a good thing Daddy doesn’t do social media or read Mommy’s blog because this is his pressie this year. Shhhh… I think he will love it as much as we did going back over the many memories we made in the most magical part of the world.
The one thing I would say about a Rosemood photo book it’s nothing like I have had printed before. I am not just saying that I have made SO many photobooks in my lifetime. These not only are printed better than others we have had in the past but Rosemood edited and fixed photos that may have been grainy or less than perfect to print so that each page looks just like a magazine. I was blow away with how good the printing was on some of the photos that I knew weren’t the best quality but a great memory so I didn’t want to leave them out.
It was so easy to create this book using their templates and various options for each page so I could catalog our trip in chronological order. I love how much it feels like a coffee table magazine. I couldn’t decide between portrait and landscape but in the end I am so pleased with the end results. I am already working on a Rosemood photobook from our summer holidays just gone. I plan to catch up with other trips too. I absolute love the idea of having them all the same size and style and stacking them on the shelf in the living room.
Going over our digital photobooks is something we have always done since we met, Mr P and I. I love the fact that our kids love doing it now too. We do it often on special occasions, end of the year, when we have holiday blues or planning another trip. They are always on hand around the house for rainy day fun too. My favorites are ones of the kids when they were babies to go over with them. I might just have to remake them all using Rosemood as photos I took seven years ago are nothing like they are today. I am sure they can work their magic on them and make them look spectacular.
I really can’t suggest enough how good of a Christmas present this would be for someone you love or even like. The quality, the attention to detail from Rosemood end before they print like editing typos in captions and editing photo quality to their very best its worth every penny. I think cost wise they are great.
So how do you prepare for the holidays? Do you make your own Christmas cards to send out? Perhaps you are thinking of doing a photobook for the grandparents of your kids adventures. They would love it. The kids can help design it too! It’s a win-win all around. Best of all you can mark it off your ‘Christmas to do list”. Come on, everyone has one.
I even get to offer you FREE SHIPPING if you purchase Christmas Cards or Photobooks from Rosemood between now and Dec 31, 2018.
