Half term, Halloween, and a rocker style #littleloves

We are coming to the end of the week and our very first half term survival. It’s been an amazing chilled out week together with the kids. I have missed having B home with us as a trio during the week so much. The kids as usual have been inside each other’s pockets. B and I had two mornings together while MM was in nursery to spend some great quality time together. We don’t often have time just us so it was amazing. It really made me realize how much he has changed and grown up just since starting school in September. We made sure it was a quiet week as he has been so exhausted lately with school. Sometimes down time in life is needed as much for the kids as it is the parents. It’s been a great half term if only the weather could have been a little dryer but we made some ordinary moment kind of memories and sometimes those are the very best ones.

WHAT I AM LOVING THIS WEEK…

READ

I am loving everyone’s Halloween blog posts from crafts, baking to home decorating. Let’s not forget the amazing pumpkin carving going on all over. We are decorating the house for trick or treaters today. I saw this post by Capture by Lucy – Halloween Party Food Jam Brain Tarts look better than they sound I promise. Would be great for a party nibble for Halloween. I have been sharing my own Halloween snack ideas for Pumpkins & Broomsticks over at Little & Fierce Blog too.

HEARD

I have been really bad lately on listening to music. It used to be something I did at least once a day whether it was while I was cooking or cleaning or just in the background in the car etc. Last night, was the first night we had it on as a family in awhile too. We have this little ritual where we turn on the cotton & cable lights, turn off all the main lights in the house and dance around to the loud music. It’s mostly country music we listen to as a family and a little rock/alternative at times too. It’s fun though, the kids love it and Mr P thinks we are all crazy and sits and watches us until we all fall over ready for bed.

WATCHED

I have been watching the end of the series Pretty Little Liars I had no idea when I got hooked there was six seasons to get through. Now it’s a mission just to finish it and know but I doubt I will get the answers in the end either. I have been ignoring all my other shows and have plenty stocked up for the winter to get through with MIC, Downton Abbey, Nashville, and still the last season of Grey’s Anatomy even though I know what happens to McDreamy…oh the tears.

WORE
This week I bought two statement necklaces they I absolutely love from BaubleBar my new favorite jewellery place. It’s a rocker look I have been going for lately which is way out of my comfort zone but that’s why I love it so much. I even had on leather pants this week.

MADE
This week I made a variety of dishes in minutes using the Tefal Cook4me with friends. It was a great time together and I fell in love with a machine that can cook fast and delicious all at once. This soup was just the starter but it was so tasty too.

AND LASTLY…
We are off to Marbella to see friends next week. I hope the weather is nice and can warm my bones. It’s been so cold and rainy this week. Although I won’t complain it’s been an over all lovely Autumn. I can’t wait to meet my friends new baby too. There seems to be something in the water with a baby boom. I am feeling so broody watching all the baby spam on instagram and the bump watching on facebook. I love it. It’s always great to have friends that have the same age children and we all get along so well.

  1. Those necklaces are beautiful, you wear them really well and always look so stylish. We’ve had a pretty chilled out half term so far as well which has been lovely, especially as the husband has had some time off work too so we’ve been able to spend some time as a family.

    • Thank you so much Rachel. I wouldn’t say I have always had style but trying to do little pieces here and there to look better. Got to take care of myself in my 30s haha Glad you have had the whole family together for half term. So lovely isn’t it?

    • I know I was really getting into a rut of jeans and tshirt constantly. Needed a little glitter and bling in my life. It’s lovely just to relax and have time together isn’t it?

  5. Glad you had a great half term, and those necklaces are beautiful.

This week has been pretty laid back, we stayed in all week. Ben actually starts pre-school next week, so I just wanted to spend some time together at home, just the 2 of us (whilst the bf works). Although we are off out tomorrow, into the city then round my parents for Halloween, so that will be fun!

  7. I have been loving all your Halloween bits Jenny. Loved your pumpkin carving video. You make it look so easy! I’ve never really celebrated Halloween and I’m making it my mission to get more involved with all holidays. We’re going to a Halloween party at my sister in laws tomorrow (though I have no idea what we are dressing as) and am excited for Little B to get his first taste of trick or treating and pumpkin carving. We’ve had a pretty chilled out half term too-definitely needed! Your soup looks amazing-i think that cooker is on a lot of your wish lists now! Have a great weekend x

    • Thank you Jude. I need to invest in a few more so I don’t completely wear them out. Baublebar is amazing because each week something goes on sale at a great price and you can scoop it up. Its from the states though. 🙂
