Little Tikes Fantastic Firsts for my baby

Baby Grizzle is almost six months old now. I can’t believe how fast his first few months are going. It’s only going to get faster, I know all too well. He has hit a few firsts already with two teeth popping out at the bottom this week, trying to sit up, rolling over, and talking gibberish non-stop lately too. It’s hard to see his firsts come and go without a little added sadness, knowing he is my last baby. Every one of his firsts is a last for me.  I am so grateful for this blog to document all these milestones and look back at them in years to come.

I also use milestone cards to document so many of his firsts. When I had my first two babies years ago, it was a fun way to show each month when they were another month older. Now, you can find milestone cards for just about any firsts a baby may have. I love this Mum Milestone Card that reads, “Today, I had my firsts lie in”. I definitely think that’s one to document and raise a glass to for the both of us. You can click this link above and download them for FREE! There are so many to choose from and so fun to use!

I love this age when everything is new to them. They are curious little creatures with so much to learn and try to understand. You can see it in their eyes as they follow you around everywhere. Toys become these amazing, mesmerizing objects to play with, chew on, watch and admire. Active play is such an important part of growing up. It heightens all their senses and helps them learn.

We have teamed up with Little Tikes to test out the Fantastic Firsts range which is designed to inspire your baby to get moving. From their first steps, developing motor skills and hand-eye coordination to building confidence. Of course, the best part it’s all fun and games with their toys.

SLEEPY STACKER available at Argos and Amazon    /     SINGING SORTER available at Argos and Amazon

Let’s start with the Sleepy Stacker. These adorable and fun little animals are perfect for Baby Grizzle. He is just learning how to sit up and they are colorful, rattle, and play to his curiosity. When you pull them apart their eyes close and go to sleep and they are fun to stack too. Perfect if you get your baby to do it and then document it with the “Today I learnt how to stack” milestone card too. Baby Grizzle particularly loved the orange one with the crackling wings. Anything that makes that crackling sound he is in love. They are all vibrant and super easy to stack. They sit in little white cups with feet so there are three pieces to stack together. The green one has beads in his belly to rattle around too.

As you can see Baby Grizzle had his fun cut out for him in his high chair while he was waiting for me to get his lunch ready today. Although he soon learnt that he could also throw them on the tile floor and they make a great sound and make Mommy keep picking them up so he could do it again and again. I had a word about how he was supposed to stack them and not knock them over but he found it more hilarious to do it his way. They are his toys after all so I left him to it. I can see him having these as a firm favorite over the next few months.

Whether he is waiting impatiently for his meals to be made and entertaining himself with his Sleepy Stackers or chilling on his pillow having a good chew on one of them they are a Fantastic First indeed. Just look how cute they are when they are unstacked with their sleepy eyes shut.

He seems pretty please with himself that he figured out how they go to together too. I was impressed with his dexterity already. Just like his older brother who was quick to learn to stack things I think he is following suit. Little Tikes Fantastic Firsts for my baby

Next up, let’s talk the Singing Sorter. It is recommended for slightly older babies when they are moving about a little more. But it didn’t stop Baby Grizzle from having a first glance and a little play around with them during tummy time today. They are absolutely gorgeous with their vibrant colors and fun painted faces on the shapes. Obviously great for learning the colors and shapes but also fitting them into their shape carts and pulling them around as they bob up and down when it’s pulled across the floor.

I had Baby Grizzle sitting on my lap and kept pulling them in front of him back and forth and he couldn’t take it any longer, squealing for them and reaching out to grab them. So I took them out during his tummy time and thought he would have fun reaching and looking up at them. He is definitely getting stronger and stronger in his upper body and neck to hold himself upright.
