The weekend is upon us now… I am just heading back from London. I apologize I was MIA for a little bit from #littleloves roundup with bad news to the family as some of you already know it’s been harder to adjust and fit in work, kids, house, husband and life without a few hiccups. It happens.
I will say I have learned so much and my outlook on things have changed drastically this month from it all. I am making more moments count that I should have been doing long ago. I am taking the time to sit and soak up just how little, amazing, and fun my kids are each week. With busy lives we can get wrapped up into it and forget to stop and breathe. I am so guilty of this. My kids have been my absolute rock, I honestly don’t know what I would do without them ever but especially right now. They know just when to be cute and make me smile and just when to reach out and give me an extra hug, when I need it the most. Wednesdays are my daughter and my snuggle days. Normally, she just takes a nap in her bed without me lying down with her but Wednesdays we come back from music, have a chat and giggle together (a few selfies, she loves them) and then she quietly slips into a dream state while I look at her flutter eyes while she dreams. In these moments I am making them count more than ever. You never know what tomorrow holds in front of us. I wouldn’t trade our little moments like this for anything.
THIS WEEK I AM LOVING…
I actually have been reading like crazy. I got stuck in to Victoria Aveyard’s Red Queen series and was hooked. It’s just like Game of Thrones meets Divergent. My kind of series and I just started the third book in the series called Cruel Crown today on the train back home from London. Then I have The Secret by Katherina Diamond that was recommended to me and Try Not to Breathe by Holly Seddon and Between Sisters by Cathy Kelly which were both on the Amazon bestsellers list. Hopefully this keeps my mind busy over Christmas. What have you been reading?
Have you heard? We celebrated “Friendsgiving” this year for our Thanksgiving family feast and I would love to share our little video with you because it’s not just about family but all the loved ones in your life you should be thankful for and we wanted to showcase that this year. The kids were so excited to share some of their America traditions with friends from school.
Have you been watching Vlogmas? It takes over youtube by storm each Christmas season and I have been too nervous to join in…UNTIL NOW. This will be my first year doing #vlogmas so I hope you will help me along the way. My first two videos here…what do you think? I thought I would start off with a few small things we do to get ready for Christmas and then share our big days like seeing Santa and more leading up to the big day. I will have a variety of Christmas festivities, recipes, crafts, personal & motivation posts, as well as some challenges in throughout the month of December. I would love it if you could like, share, comment and definitely give me feedback as I challenge myself to vlogging everyday.
Tis the Season to be very busy! There have been celebrations none stop leading up to December. It always seems like from Thanksgiving to New Year’s our diaries are jam packed full. We had a nice dinner for my husband’s company which I wore this white dress for and then we had my husband’s golf club Christmas Ball which I wore the black dress top right. But as you can see in between all the busy times we have had lately, some days it’s been constant gym gear. My Eat Cake for Breakfast and Mother of Wildings tops are firm go to tops lately along with my favorite bobble hat!
You may have Christmas on your mind but as an Expat I don’t let slide my own holidays back home. This past week we celebrated Thanksgiving or rather “Friendsgiving”. I was so excited to share with you what I made this year for my Thanksgiving Autumn Tablescape. A great improvement to last year’s, I think. What do you think?
It’s been such a festive stream of photos over on #lifecloseup on instagram. I am loving this community and how much everyone really engages and supports each other. Thank you all so much for coming back each week. I am loving these festive fun captures, do pop over and give these instagrammers some love and find some new ones to follow perhaps. We would love to have you if you aren’t joining in already! It’s all about your version of life close up whether that’s interiors, food, kids, parenting, fashion, beauty, style, travel, and more. Come share with us!
Linking up with Coffee Work Sleep Repeat for #littleloves roundup.
Lovely to see you back, hope you’re feeling a little better :). We’re doing Vlogmas too – it’s so exciting isn’t it! I’m struggling to keep up with editing and watching everyone else’s, but will pop over and watch later!
Happy Thanksgiving, and have a lovely week xx
Oh me too, I have tried to make a list of everyone doing vlogmas to help support them. It’s my first year so I am doing a little content ones and days in the life ones leading up to Christmas. So I hope it stays interesting for everyone. Thanks for the Thanksgiving wishes and have a lovely weekend. I will pop over now and look for your vlogmas.
I love your wore section this week Jenny, you look fabulous. Isn’t this time of year so busy? We have a packed calendar too but it all helps to get in the Christmas spirit I think.
Hope you’re feeling a bit better xxx
Yes, we always say that we should see our friends and double date for celebrations throughout the year and life is busy and than Christmas hits and everyone wants to catch up and celebrate together and the calendar just overflows sometimes. I always get sick the week before xmas because I am just so run down. Hoping this year I can hide from all that illness and still enjoy the celebrations. It has been lovely. Thanks for the kind words Jo.
I’m sorry to hear about all that has been happening with you and the family of late – it’s so important to take stock of the little things at times like this and just make the most of every moment. Which is exactly what it sounds like you’re doing!
Loved your thanksgiving tablescape, and all the outfits you featured in your wore section this week. I’ll have to look at your Vlogmas – there are so many great content creators sharing some wonderful videos this time of year.

Sorry you are having a tough time. I’ve seen how much your friends think of you in some of the vlogmas videos I’ve seen (mummy, daddy and me etc). I hope they are some comfort. It really is important to savour our children too. They do grow so fast. Loved you christmas reading vlog. X
