Love the little things #13

Last updated on March 4th, 2024 at 08:16 pm

Hmmmm… this week has been so full of potty training it has been hard to cherish the little things but here is my attempt at the little things I have loved did this week.

Read

funnyface

“WordPress for Dummies” My kind of book. Since starting self hosted I have been in so many little issues with my wordpress and frustrated that I didn’t know my way around it or how to fix the smallest issues. So far this has been a handy helper for me although I am only half way through it and at the moment attacking the “tweaking your theme code”. I will let you know how I get on. Clearly I am not enjoying this read but it’s a must.

Keeping Up With The Joneses! Best movie ever. They really should do this, it’s great marketing and who wouldn’t want this job! Haven’t heard of it before check out the trailer.

Heard

Blake Shelton – Doin What She Likes

If only all men were as romantic as this! We can all keep hoping.  Great song though.

Made

This week I made Chocolate Chip Cupcakes (Egg-free, Nut-free, Dairy-Free) for my allergic son. They turned out magically delicious. Click the picture below for the recipe and enjoy!

Wore

Birdsnood

I am scarf / snood obsessed, I own a ton, I swear. When I go shopping I am always drawn to them, not sure why but they are a great accessory. Especially when I am wearing plain blue jeans and a white top. This pink bird snood I got from Next.

And lastly..

I have to mention it and I am sure the rest of you are done hearing about it already on all my posts. This week the biggest thing EVER happened for Let’s Talk Mommy, after only blogging for six months I found out I made it to the MAD Blog Finals in TWO categories for Best Baby Blog & Best New Blog. It was very surreal and I am still trying to wrap my head around it all. Thank you to all those that voted for me! WOW, I am forever grateful.

And to top it all off my real life blogging friend and the HOST to this fabulous linky, Butwhymummywhy has made it too, for Schooldays. I am so proud of her!

We would love you to vote for us!

  1. Ooo those cakes look amazing. You look lovely too. I’m also a scarf obsessive. I’ve banned myself from buying anymore for a while.
Congratulations on being a finalist. So well deserved xx

    • Thank you Lauren that is so sweet of you. I am completely in shock. I don’t really know what to think, I keep checking the list thinking do they have that right. I am up against so many favorites of mine too makes it hard. They all deserve it. The cakes turned out better then I thought because usually when I substitute ingredients it doesn’t taste as good. They were delicious. I really should put a ban on my scarf/ snood buying too. I have far too many that just sit in the closet. My problem is I wear them to death when I first get them then never again. Piling in the closet. Eeek naughty I know.

  2. Such a stylish Momma! 🙂 Oh, I love a scarf too! Yours is gorgeous! Your cupcakes look amazing too Jenny, and I’m thinking I could probably use GF flour and they’d be Coeliac friendly. We have GF/Dairy free little friends, and I’m always on the lookout for new treat ideas! And, once again, the hugest congrats on the MADs. A nicer person couldn’t have been picked xx

  4. *another scarf obsessive* over here! I’ve got tons of them & they really help ‘make’ an outfit. I need me that ‘WP for dummies’ book, although i reckon it’d still confuse the life out of me. Never watched keeping up with the jonses…will try & catch it on demand!
& MASSIVE congrats on being a finalist (its what all blogggers dream about!), well deserved & it shows you’re obviously doing something right! We all knew that anyway!
Well done gorgeous lady, hugs xx

    • Thank you so much Katrina for your sweet comment. Sending virtual hugs to you right now! Can’t beat a good scarf they don’t break as easy with little babas pulling and chewing on them like necklaces. WP for dummies is ok but still confusing you are right. I am clueless. So much to learn still so little time to catch up with everything.

    • Thank you so much. Yes I kinda feel like that and surreal as there are so many of my favorites on the same list. So nervous but grateful. I am only half way through the book but I bought mine on ebay for like £2 so I would say its worth that. lol The cake was very mmmmm! 😉

  6. Those cakes look yummy!

I’m a complete scarf addict but just can’t get on board with a snood, not sure why? I really like them on other people (and your looks fab) but I just don’t think they suit me.

Already voted missus, maybe a vote in your direction 😉 xx

    • Thank you so much Anna-Marie. I am so excited but OHHHHH so nervous I really am. I can’t believe it. I couldn’t have done it without the support of my readers. I never thought anyone would really read my blog when I first started. The cakes turned out so yummy!
