I love the dynamics of our family of four at the moment. It’s perfect for us. Whether it’s girls vs boys or Mommy-Son time and Father-Daughter time we each have a separate relationship with each other as well as all together. Somedays Daddy is the favorite and other days Mommy is and let’s not forget those days that both kids want us both and go back and forth.
It is always hard to capture the four of us together, especially when we are out and about doing family adventures. Someone has to take the picture. But on this occasion both kids were very corporative, not so smiley but willing to sit for a moment while Granny took our photo. Mommy was even impressed that Mr P was a willing participant too.
Over the last few months both kids have grown so much. With a baby on the move, we now, all get more enjoyment out of our family adventures together. No longer always having to take the stroller with us and tuck baby away while we play.
Missy Moo can join in, and have become quite the little explorer. She ventures out to see what her big brother is doing and participate as much as possible.
Buba is intrigued yet not ready for his sister to be into everything you are. But when she isn’t paying attention to him, he is quick to try to capture it again. Always making sure she is involved somehow and keeping up with him at all times.
It’s amazing to watching the kids interact not just with themselves but with Mr P as well. They idiolize their father so very much. From the moment they hear the door handle click at dinner time, they shout and strain their necks from the dining room table to get that first glimpse of Daddy. I love sitting back and watching him read to them, teach them their numbers and letters and play games with them after dinner. It’s their bonding moment while I finish cleaning up the dinner dishes. Hearing their laughter from the living room float into the kitchen is a sound I will never forget and never want to stop hearing.
This month could have gone worse when I first spotted chicken pox on both kids, the same day and almost within the same hour little red dots appeared. As always they both have to doing everything together. I was so excited that it wasn’t weeks apart and we could get it over and done with at once. I was also surprised, for the most part, they both seem to be on normal behavior and not too sick with the chicken pox as I had envisioned. So while the last month has mostly been indoors, we still have made some great memories and had a lot of family fun.
I love our little family of four. I look forward to seeing how our relationships between us all grow, change and become stronger each day. I am so lucky to have a husband as my best friend, a daughter that’s so happy and full of life, and a son that is funny and loving. I really do feel like I have won the lottery with them.
A beautiful post and gorgeous family photos! Sounds like you’ve had lots of fun (apart from the chicken poxs) but they still smiled sweetly xx
Ahh thank you Michelle. Yes we have had a great month even with the poxies! Life is really great at the moment.
What a beautiful photo. We’ve found it only slightly easier getting photos of the four of us, there is still usually one child (or adult!) who won’t comply 🙂
Yes, and usually in this house it’s the adult that doesn’t comply first!!! lol Hope it gets easier.
These are beautiful photographs! What gorgeous light and a gorgeous family!
Thank you so much Becky. It took us awhile to get us all looking at the camera hahah Let’s hope we succeed each month so we can keep joining in family portraits.
How gorgeous is this little family of yours! So glad everyone survived the dreaded pox!
Thank you. Yes survived and on it’s way out. Hopefully never to go through it again ever! Or me get them. Eeek
This is such sweet post! Love your family picture 🙂
Thank you so much. It was hard to get but I was really pleased with the outcome, for once.
Gorgeous photos. We are a foursome and I love that we each have our own time with each child. Lovely post.
Thank you so much Laura. Yes it’s definitely a great dynamic having four each one never left out and all can take turns with each other for quality time as well as time together.
Ah this is so sweet Jenny,The dynamic of a family of four is definitely a special thing when you’re all together (although I know you want to have more – two children is enough for me!). Thanks for sharing X
hahah I do want more but that will never happen. Mr P is very stern about no more children. lol It’s only because I am from a big family. But I do love our dynamics how we are now and I am forever grateful for my two I have.
Lovely post, and I love how Buba has his hand on Missy Moo in the second photo, so sweet x
He really can’t go a minute without touching her. Both good and bad really. Sometimes absolutely annoying. lol She gets fed up with it and tries to shake him off it’s hilarious.
a lovely post and so true Jenny!
Not sure i have seen a me and mine from you before?! But my you are a good looking bunch! xxx
Ya thanks. We can’t always join in usually because Mr P refuses to take the picture or I can’t get the four of us in the picture and someone to take it. I could do with getting a tripod and a remote really. The last one I did actually get in in March. lol Hoping to keep up with it now. Just have to keep bribing everyone involved!!
You are such a beautiful family! It’s lovely seeing children adore their father, Lucas runs at his Dad everyday when he comes in now and immediately they are playing a game. Hope the pox are on the way out, good to get it over with all together though x
Yes pox on the way out thankfully not much hassle really. Not nice looking but scabbed over quickly and already falling off and going away. So happy they both had them exact same time and young to get it over with before our big trip to America in June. lol
Beautiful photos. We tend to pair up a lot too x
Hahah I think it’s just easier, two parents two kids two sets of hands to entertain, play and contain each child. hahaha It really is funny to see which wants who and when. Especially if they are being naughty. lol
Such beautiful family photos. I love the light and colours 🙂
Thank you so much for stopping by and commenting. My house is so hard to get good lighting for photos. This I had to move my dining room table out of the way and use light from a the window. lol Thanks.
Gorgeous photos, I am impressed you got everyone looking at the camera, we haven’t quite mastered that yet!
Thank you. It was a first and not easy. You can see they aren’t smiling tho. It was a more quick look at that and hope for the best. Lol
What a beautiful family photo. It’s lovely to see how happy you are too x
Ahh thank you so much. I am very grateful for my beautiful family. Never imagined life like this amazing. love them. Lol I was pleased as usually someone is running out of the picture. Lol
Aw beautiful photo! x
Thank you Kerry.
Aww that’s a gorgeous photo! And harsh as it sounds it’s great that they’re doing chickenpox together – it’s really killer when one gets it just as the first has finished quarantine – and the whole thing starts all over again!
Yes I thought the same I am so glad it literally was the same day same time so we can get it over and done with. Tough week before as they both were really sick but I am glad it’s the end of it now and I don’t have to be quarantined anymore. HURRAY Freedom!
Lovely photos, you have such a gorgeous family! SO lovely to meet you at Blog On, hopefully we’ll again soon and have time for a proper chat 🙂
