Moon Palace Cancun, Mexico

If you are looking to book a trip to Cancun, Mexico; I highly recommend checking out The Moon Palace. It’s actually three hotels on the same premises: The Grand, Sunrise, and Nizuc.

It can be confusing when booking as we had no idea it there were three hotels under The Moon Palace name. So let me help you.

Booking The Moon Palace:

The Grand is the main one so if you book directly to stay there you can use all facilities on all premises. If you book a room for Sunrise or Nizuc, you usually won’t get to choose but it’s based on the type of room you want and availability. You can though call direct and request the Nizuc if you prefer. However, you have to pay a day rate to visit The Grand if you stay in one of the other two properties. We did this as The Grand has more restaurants and an amazing adult day club area that will blow your mind.

In my opinion, the Nizuc was the best though. It had more to do, better layout with cafes, restaurants and shops. The pool was better I thought for big groups or large families.

The Grand does cost more than the other two premises and if you can afford to stay there, go on treat yourself.

Kid’s Clubs:

Wired Lounge host arcade games and video games for older children whilst the Kid’s Playroom were fantastic for my kids to get some time away with other kids. Baby O was still too little to go but B and MM had a blast trying some of the activities and games they played for the kids there. They both made a friend too.

Entertainment:

The shows are amazing and will wow you as much as it will hold the kids’ attention.

You can rent bikes to ride all over the massive property of the three hotels together. It’s truly beautiful with white sandy beaches along its front too.

They have an amazing concierge and tour guide desk that can book you on just about anything you want. We did the Mayan Ruins, a day to the Water Park via a boat, and booked taxis to shopping and more from there. It was easy and everyone was so friendly.

Awe Spa:

We booked the Spa for a couples massage and thermal bathing together for my husband 40th birthday while we were there. Sadly, we had no idea that the men and women’s facilities were completely separate. So we had to sit in hot tubs and saunas and steam rooms with women on one side of the building and men on the other. Never experienced that kind of spa day but it was still a lovely massage in a couples room together.

Hotel Shop:

For the most part, the hotel shop can get you anything you need. They did run out of baby food the first day so we had the concierge source us some for our two weeks stay from the nearest Walmart. They brought it straight to the hotel for us.

They have medicines, sunblock, food, drinks, accessories, gifts and toys. Anything you can really think you will need by the pool or you might have forgot at home. If they don’t have it, you can pop into one of the onsite clothing shops too.
