T’is the season to be baking and making in the kitchen with your loved ones. We love gathering in the kitchen as a family and creating something tasty to all share together. It’s also the busiest time of year so having a few Christmas recipes that are quick and easy on hand is a must. Most people will agree that during Christmas, there is always a roll of puff pastry in the fridge. It’s one of those items you can literally make hundreds of recipes with. Today, we decided to make a Mozzarella Pesto Christmas Wreath.
Who doesn’t’ love flaky puff pastry, creamy pesto sauce, with delicious stringy melted mozzarella in the middle? I don’t think we can be friends if you don’t. This is sure to be a winner at the next Christmas party too, if you dare to share.

Cut your roll into one inch sections and lay flat.
-
Place on baking sheet, whip egg in small bowl and eggwash the top
-
Bake in the oven on 180 C degrees for 10 minutes or until golden brown.
-
On a plate, lay rocket lettuce and rosemary in a circle to look like a wreath.
-
Place baked mozzarella pesto rolls in a circle on top of the rocket and add tomatoes in between each roll.
We use this recipe in a lot of other ways too. Add salami inside before you roll it. Or use sun-dried tomato sauce instead of pesto for an alternative flavour. Once you start making this recipe, you will start grabbing whatever is in the fridge and rolling your puff pastry up and baking it. It’s one of the quickest and easiest things to stock up on during the holiday and make into numerous savory and sweet recipes.
What would you put in your puff pastry Christmas wreath???
As an added bonus, sometimes I like to drizzle balsamic glaze across the top of these for slightly different taste. No matter, how plain or how fancy you make this recipe, it’s delicious. I bet you can’t eat just one! My kids like to eat them cold but I love them straight out of the oven and eat whilst they are still warm.
