The last month of the year, a month that has been super tough for us and also really great. We have been plagued by the vomit bug, illnesses, health problems, and yet got a cheeky weekend away in Marbella, Spain to see friends. We have such a great time there. So even though we are only half way through November I feel like it’s been a very long month already. I am anxious to get the Christmas festivities going and decorate the house too. I love the warm, cozy feeling of a decorated house. It’s the baby’s first Christmas so I can’t wait to see what he thinks of all the twinkling lights. It’s a good thing he isn’t on the move yet.

The kids have been so tired too. Not sure after a busy year, a busy month, or a just a busy week from school that has them flagging but it’s all been a lot for them. You can see they need a long, lazy break. Will bugs wiping out our energy levels and causing a few missed days of school, it’s no wonder we can’t wait until Christmas break.

Last year, I think I had every day of December planned out from after school stuff, to weekends to the holiday itself. This year, since we are off to Mexico between Xmas and New Year, I am wanting lazy days. I want duvet days where we all stay in loungewear all day and veg out. Where I roll around on the carpet with the kids while they play superheroes around me. Those are the best kind of Christmas holiday days. I probably won’t make it to the Christmas markets, and might even hide away from a few parties we have been invited to just to find some ground under my feet again and recharge.

Oh the life of a baby with so much attention on him, he doesn’t’ know what to do at times. Don’t babies have it so easy? We all rush to grow up but being a grown up is tiring, hard sometimes, and exhausting. I long for the days they grow up and understand this. I am sure my parents said the same about me. The whole “you will understand when you are older” used to drive me mad but I get it now. “Mom, I get it!”

I love watching my three siblings together. It seems like holidays suit them so much more. There is more sleep, less school work, and they just get on better when they all can run outside and play together. The older two dote on the baby so much, he will be the most spoiled baby in all the world I swear it. I have never seen a baby get kissed, hugged, and touched so much. Let’s not get start who holds him longer, and who he is looking at and making him laugh the hardest. It’s hilarious and slightly annoying at times, I will admit. But I wouldn’t change it any other way. The three of them are forming bonds and the dynamics are lovely. I never thought I would get my third baby but I am so glad I did and I feel so bless with these three in tow. We are a little crew and I love that.

  1. Aww, the three of them are so sweet together – it sounds like the older two really do love their little brother, And I have to say I’m very jealous of the lovely sunshine in these pictures! #SiblingsProject
