What’s your favorite versatile dress? Is it a dress you can get away with by day and by night? Or do you love the cotton summer dresses and go for a fancier cocktail dress for evening parties and dinners out? Lately, I have found I like somewhere in between. I like to feel pretty but not too dresses up during the day but still be able to throw heels on and change my bag for evening. On holiday it’s way easier to pack when you have versatile outfits ready to go!

I fell in love with this silver, open shoulder dress from Mango. It’s the perfect silk cocktail dress to pair with sparkling flats and chunky jewellery for a summer day look and pull out your black peep toe heels with a black bag for your next evening out.

It’s no secret I have been loving frilly, puffy sleeves this season. I have shared numerous tops lately in my monthly #littleloves vlogs on my youtube channel. So when I saw that this dress was not only in the Mango 60% sale last month but that it had open shoulders and puffy sleeves it was an immediate decision to buy it for my trip to America.

I don’t have a lot of space in my suitcase when we go on holiday so its great that I can get away with this dress for both night and day. It’s also great because when I come back home it’s endless visiting and running around as my parents live far away from everywhere so I don’t always have the option after being out all day to go fresh up or change into something nicer if we go to dinner. Throwing a pair of heels and clutch in the back of the car to swap out before going out is perfect.

Also the places where I grew up are not as dressy as it’s in the country. I think this is a great balance with the pleats in the silk and the open shoulder detail to make this dressy but not over the top. It is also a great one to travel in as it’s so comfortable. Who doesn’t love to travel in style?

I got these gold sequins flats from Next and they quickly became my favorite flats for summer. I have been wearing them everywhere. Mostly because they are feel like I am wearing slippers out and yet look so trendy, and dress up even plain shorts and t-shirt. They have a variety of colors to choose from which I will admit I have a few colors in my wardrobe now.

To pull the gold and grey together I got this chunky gold and pink statement necklace from Mango in the sale too. I love a big necklace with a plain top or dress. It really brings the look together with the gold on my neck and feet. I have been known in my house to mix silver, gold and rose gold in my interiors and lately I have been doing it in my wardrobe as well.

I wore this lovely outfit to a luncheon with a friend at the beautiful Tatton Park Gardens. It’s such a stunning place. I find it so peaceful to walk around various gardens and fields blooming.

  1. Mango is one of my favourite High Street brands and this dress looks fab on you Jenny. My ‘go to’ dress is a floaty thrown-on dress from Zara, which I brought about three or four years ago. It doesn’t crease and is so comfortable. Best summer dress ever!!! xx

This style is so perfect for warm summer days and is a great piece for that daytime to night our transition. xx

  3. This dress looks gorgeous on you, the colour is perfect. I’ve really tried but just can’t get on with the cold shoulder trend, I always feel my shoulders look disproportionately big in those styles which makes me really sad as I love the look! Hope you’re having a fantastic holiday! xx

  4. It’s a beautiful dress Jenny and you look gorgeous in it. I love the third photo down from the top – absolutely stunning. I rarely wear dresses (although I feel really comfortable when I do!) – I think I need a personal stylist to help me out with changing my style!
