America: Our annual spa day

zi spa spokane

Every year when I visit home my childhood best friend and I visit our favorite spa called Zi Spa which is a few towns over from where we grew up. It’s a chance to get out of town for her, and for us to catch up while getting pampered, just the two of us. Last year, we were both 6 months pregnant with our girls so it was a huge celebration this year as it was her first time away from her daughter.

It is rare to have a friend that you have literally shared your whole life with, I am blessed that I have that with her. No matter how long it goes before I am visiting we pick up just as we left off when I moved, inseparable. I still can’t believe we had our daughters the same day. It will forever be a magical story for us. She is more like a sister to me, close to my family and I to hers. We have never had an argument or disagreement ever. I truly think she is the nicest person I have ever met in my entire life with the biggest heart.

The Zi Spa is amazing too. The staff are all super friendly and welcoming. The facials there are one of my favorites. I have many facials that leave my face burning and feeling greasy but my skin was left feeling soft and glowing the way it should feel after an amazing facial. We got luxury pedicures too. I love that they massage your whole leg and feet for more than 30 seconds you get at other places. Overall, this is a big reason we return year after year, it’s a great spa.

What is a spa day without champagne lemonade! Forget the mimosas, lemonade instead of orange juice is the new way forward! So yummy. A great way to celebrate our pampering spa day together. Funny enough we even got the same beauticians doing our facials and pedicures that we had last year. It’s always a great feeling when they remember us from year to year. It’s a tradition we hope to keep carrying out every year.

ugly fish sushi post falls

I love, love sushi and it’s a shame Mr P isn’t as keen on it as me.

After we finished our spa treatments instead of having lunch at the spa like we normally do, we decided to branch out and go for some sushi next door at Ugly Fish. It was amazing. As you can see the presentation was beautiful, the pomegranate green tea came in a stunning pitcher with ice in the middle that I am desperately searching the internet for now, and the food tasted absolutely lip smacking-ly delicious! We stuffed our faces full of various rolls. I could eat so much sushi it’s unbelievable, stocking up because I don’t get it enough.

shopping spokane valley mall

If spa treatments and amazing sushi wasn’t enough, we hit the mall down the street to do some annual shopping. Last year, we had both just found out we were having girls so we wiped the mall cleaning of adorable baby girl outfits. Half of our daughters’ wardrobes are matching because of this. This year we thought it was time we spoil ourselves and spoil we did. I bought numerous maxi dresses, skirts, sandals, a new wallet, statement necklaces, and a pair of those pants that feel like pjs still unsure if I can pull them off! lol I was even excited when I found this necklace above to match a skirt I bought in another store. They were made for each other or at least this is what I told myself when I was purchasing it.

dressed up for ladies night

We ended our annual spa/shopping day by getting dressed up in some of our new attire and going out for a late dinner at Twigs. It’s a swanky bistrobar and restaurant next to where we were staying. The food was delicious and we were starving by time we got ready and got there.

The sun had gone down and a cool breeze was blowing which made for a lovely evening too. It really was the perfect day.

Twigs Spokane Valley Mall Bistro & Bar

The bar was very trendy. I loved the decor inside and the far wall was adorned with numerous colorful bottles. I am not a huge drinker but I loved the look of this. If I ever had a bar in my house, I would do this to one wall for the style.

Back at our hotel we enjoyed our ‘to go’ desserts Twigs T’more as we thought the hot tub would still be open and we were going to take a dip before dessert and bed. Sadly it was shut down for maintenance.

I slipped out my new favorite pjs from Forever 21 and drifted off to sleep knowing I didn’t have to get up with the kids in the morning. It was a perfect spa/shopping day with my bestie. One we do every year and every year feels more and more special to me.

I love you R!

    • Exactly. We always said that it will be our time to be together just us two. It’s good to get help with the kids and still be able to get away together.

    • Oh you are really missing out on the spa. Go great yourself. People always think they are not spa lovers but after trying a few and various treatments I am truly hooked to then. Need to win the lottery so I can make it a more regular thing. Lol

I have never ever seen them so happy and they are so much easier to take care of when they are happy and playing with family and friends too! I love coming home and making more memories with her. Our father’s were besties and we have been our whole lives and now watching our kids together, we can continue that tradition.
