It’s the very first “siblings” of 2016! I can’t believe January is half over already. Wait, yes I can we have been nonstop at the start of this month kicking off with birthday celebrations for Mr P. The food and goodies have not stopped either yet I am afraid. B is back in school and MM in nursery and the year has kicked started off at record speed. Normally for me, January is a slow and quiet month. I reflect and plan for the year ahead and we take it easy. Instead of making new year’s resolutions I am tricking my subconscious mind by making “to do lists for 2016” instead. I think sometimes just calling it something different really helps. I have already ticked a few “to do’s” off my list like clearing out the garage & loft with numerous trips to the dump aka the tip, and charity shop. Then I hit the closest and cabinets of the house with more charity shop bags and gave a few bags of clothes to friends with younger kiddos after selling what I could on ebay. Phew….that’s only the first two weeks of January. The kids have been just as busy starting up soccer and swimming lessons for B and ballet, gymnastics and swimming for MM. It’s a never ending going in and out of the house each day of the week.
The kids have had such a great time over Christmas being together. MM has enjoying having her brother back everyday to play with and have a playmate again. She was so sad that he started back up at school while he enjoyed Christmas he was itching to get back to school. I was so pleased that he still is loving it so much and so keen. I know this won’t last so I am soaking it up. It’s been a transition the last two weeks getting back into the speed of life and routines. I will admit harder for me those early wake ups when it’s dark and cold and I just want to stay hidden under the fluffy duvet.
TOGETHER THEY ARE LOVING…
Pretending ice skating on the drive during frosty morning school runs.
Playing make believe bus trips B as the driver, MM as the student.
Continuous hours of playdoh fun.
Bubble baths with their new bath toys from Santa.
Still singing Christmas carols.
Making up their own versions of baa, baa, “pink” sheep and asking why does it have to be black sheep?
Car conversations after school when they have been reunited, Mommy not allowed to join in.
Giggle wars: one laughs, other laughs louder and so forth.
While I am working on a simplifying goal this year with clear outs, saying yes to less, and taking in the life’s little moments more it seems we are off to a busy start to the year. I feel that’s ok because once it’s ticked off my “to do list” for the year I am done. I have this motivation that the faster I finish my list the faster I can enjoy doing nothing. (like that ever happens). The kids are growing up at the speed of light and I have been feeling guilty over the holiday that it should be more like it was with less tv/wifi and more running in the country fields together before it’s too late and they are teenagers who despise doing family days out. The kids got new bikes for Christmas and we are hoping to make the most of them as soon as the frost leaves us.
My favorite moments of these two siblings this month is their Saturday/Sunday mornings together. We stay in our cozy pyjamas, they climb in bed, tickle and torture Mommy & Daddy until we get out of bed ourselves. We have yummy breakfast buffets together and plan our fun days ahead. The kids seem to be so relaxed on these days and giggling more. I love the sound of their laughter throughout the house on a weekend morning, it’s pure heaven. If I could bottle that up and repeat it whenever I am feeling down I would be the richest lady alive.
These two are so cute! I love their PJs!
Thanks Laura the pjs are cute aren’t they? I love monsoon clothing. They are full of adventure and fun these days together so fun to watch.
Oh Jenny – you’ve captured their sibling bond perfectly. These photos are so so lovely and really show off their happy personalities and the love and care they have for each other. You must be so proud lovely! xx
Thanks Alex that’s so kind of you to say. It’s been an amazing adventure watching them grow up together. As MM gets older and older it’s more like having twins and they are so alike it’s uncanning to say the least.
Oh these photos are so fun and happy. I needed to see this post after a pretty lame day.
Thank you so much Jodie. They know how to have a really good time that’s for sure. Sorry to hear you are having a poor day. Smiles and laughter is a great medicine for it.
Aww you can just hear the laughter rolling off the page with those two! They clearly have such a special bond, especially on lovely lazy Saturday mornings !
Thank you so much Carie. Lovely of you to say. They are feeling more and more like twins these days I must admit. I can’t get over how exact their laughter, smiles, hair color and love for each other is. It’s a magical thing to watch.
Aaah Jenny!!! These pics are so precious!! They look like they really, really enjoy each other’s company — it’s so lovely to see!! Blimey — I don’t know how you cope with two lots of activities!!! I’m hoping that — as I have two of the same sex — they’ll *hopefully* want to do the same thing!! Fingers crossed! 🙂 #SiblingsProject
Oh yes that would be the best having them all in the same classes at the same time. I am running all over. Last week I took B to MM swimming on the wrong day and MM to B’s swimming lessons by accident. I don’t always get it right. lol
They are super sweet J! I hope their bond continues to grow. I’m excited for MM to get older and see this in my 2 x
Oh bless you most definitely. It’s a busy time but fun times when they seem almost like twins now instead of baby and toddler. So much fun together.
Your two could almost be twins, they’re so gorgeous together and have the exact same colour hair! Love them! Happy January – have a lovely weekend x
Oh thanks Donna. I know we were just saying that the other day their hair is identival color and they look so much more like twins now that MM is getting older and more into toddler age from baby stages.
Love these Jenny, just look how happy they are to be together! xx
Oh thank you so much Natalie they love a good bed jumping and paddy cake play time together.
I think that top photo of them is my favourite one I have ever seen of yours Jenny, I loved it when I saw it on instagram. Just so gorgeous! x
Just wish my house had more light so it had come out more clear as it’s a fave of mine too but poor quality to print. They were so happy and having fun.
Gorgeous pictures of your two! They look so cute in their pyjamas, and I love their “giggle wars” – similar here! Sometimes lazy days in bed and just pyjamas on all day are the best! x #Siblings
Thank you so much. Oh my goodness it’s cute for five minutes but the giggle wars go on for hours. EEEK.
Oh Jenny these are beautiful pictures of your little ones, and I love their pyjamas – is that a Monsoon set I spy? They just look so happy to be together in each others’ company – what a wonderful bond they share. Lovely pictures, and happy January to you xx
Oh yes they are both from Monsoon and love them. Nothing is more fun than a pj party and these two inseparable monkeys were excited to join in the fun together. Happy January to you too hun thank you.
Such cute pics of them in their pj’s! I think you feel much better after decluttering the house after christmas and all the presents kids get. I think it’s so hard to keep kids entertained at this time of year and parents feel guilty for it but I know I have to remember that kids need chill out time too! #siblingsproject
Oh yes chill out time is definitely needed sometimes for us all. I love a good clear out and declutter.
Gorgeous snaps Jenny, you can tell just how close they are. Love that second one of them on the bed! x #siblings
Oh thanks Becky so kind of you. They are fun together.
Love the little giggles that you’ve captured. Shared sibling secrets.
Yes they definitely have their own language I swear. So cute to watch. Thanks Colette.
