Siblings {June}

The kids really seem to be growing up fast these last few weeks. Missy  Moo is almost walking which is so very exciting not just for her and Mommy, but Buba has been in awe of the whole process. Every time she stands up on something, he is there to reach out and hold her hand to guide her.

He is fascinated by her new abilities and you can tell she is too. Don’t get me wrong, we still have lots of pushing over, pulling, and attempts at sitting on top of his sister. She has finally found her voice and is getting some much deserved pay back. This is reality after all. As much as it seems like I sugar coat it all, we are normal. We have the toddler tantrums that his sister is touching his toys. We have the baby screaming matches to not touch things that she shouldn’t. Both of my kids however amazing and loving they are, they are still normal baby and toddler human beings. siblingscollagejuneHere is a little ring-around-the-rosie with Daddy in the hallway. A sweet moment I heard from the kitchen while cooking and ran to have a peak, capturing the moment. There is nothing better than that sweet sound of laughter in the house. It fills my heart with pure joy.

This month has been so extremely busy and I fear that’s just the start of the summer and how it is going to go until the weather turns cold again. We saw the celebrations of Missy Moo’s Christening & birthday party and Buba’s 3rd birthday is coming up next with a huge trip to the west coast of America for two months. It will be September before we return and the summer will have seemed to have flown by.

I never thought life would get so busy and I think that’s why it flies by so fast. So I am glad that there are moments like this above, to sit back listen and watch my kids play and have fun together. That’s what life is all about the special little moments together!

  1. Jenny, I think you’ve just described pretty much every toddler relationship. I don’t think there’s a single home that doesn’t see the occasional tantrum and bickering. How would the learn to share and get along without them? Cute, cute photos though and Missy Moo looks like she’s almost ready to run 🙂

  3. Aww our’s are similar this month Jenny. Isn’t it wonderful watching them now the babies are nearly walking? LL is so nearly there and Mads is just adorable with her, it’s lovely to see. Gorgeous photos of your pair, and I think that sometimes iPhone photos are best as they truly capture the moment. x

  4. Toddler tantrums and baby screaming are all part of the norm with having children. But sweet moments like the one you have captured are magical and so beautiful to see x

  9. How sweet that Bubba should be helping Missy Moo take her first steps. Watching my children love & teach each other so much is one of my favourite things about being a mum. x Mel

  12. Oh bless them! Mine are a similar gap as you know but a little older. We often have the disagreements over toys. And it’s worse now the boy shouts “MINE!” at the top of his lungs. I love to see them play with Daddy’s. They are so vital. And jel of USA!!!! xxx

  13. It’s funny when you realise you’ve gone from having one child and a baby to two children. Your daughter will probably be bossing her brother about all over the place before you know it. He will probably love it though!

  14. Wow Jenny, I think the moment they first stand up is the one when it really seems like they have grown up overnight! Glad to hear I’m not the only one with ‘normal’ (special) children! They are about to have the holiday of their lives aren’t they?! What an awesome summer hon! X

    • I know. That’s how I feel. Like she has aged too much in just a week. Almost like I made it happen because we had her bday early. hahaha It’s off now. It won’t be long before she figures it out.

    • Just wish the house had more light so they weren’t always grainy. but it still captured the moment and that’s all that really matters you are so right.

  16. My eldest has just been on a 1 week school trip, the youngest only grudgingly admitted that he missed her. Couldn’t wait to play when she got back though (well, until they started bickering).

  17. Aw how exciting for her to be finding her feet, this must feel like such a major change and suddenly like she’s growing up! It’s so sweet she has her big brother to guide her along the way, they look like they have a very special bond xx

  18. I love those moments when you hear laughter (and commotion!) and you just HAVE to see what’s happening. It’s those moments when it doesn’t matter and what you were doing will wait. Because moments like these in your post are truly precious and will wait for no one. And neither should they x

  19. Oh bless them – they do look so cute together but I know just what you mean about the normal sibling balance of adoration and frustration!! It’s going to be amazing the changes you’ll see over the next few weeks and months as she finds her feet!
