It’s snowing and it’s Friday! Whooo hoo! I hope it sticks and we get a weekend filled with sledding and snowman making. There is something so beautiful and magic about fluffy snow falling don’t you think? I like how bright it feels too. Everything seems so still and quiet in the mist of it coming down.
We are on our second week of my Mother’s visit and it seems to be flying by way too fast, as it always does but I am so very grateful for her visit once a year. This year is extra special with it being UK Mother’s Day. We have been celebrating all week long, just being together. I am so blessed to have a Mother I am super close to and feel I can talk and tell her anything. I only hope I have that same bond just as strong with my own daughter. We even got a chance to have my mother and mother in law together for a lovely dinner of the ladies that are such a big part of my life.
THIS WEEK I AM LOVING…
I just finished The Girl with all the Gifts…another great read borrowed from your beautiful host Morgana. She has the best bookshelf ever. I read this literally in two days and ignored everyone, it was definitely my kind of book. I highly recommend it.
I have been listening to a lot of different music lately rather than sticking to what I know and love best, country music. I know shocker! I actually am finding I am loving all the new sounds coming from my radio in the kitchen. Sometimes I have been know to stick with what I am comfortable with but as I work on my vlogging and country music just doesn’t work a lot with days out I am finding I absolutely love looking for new songs and new genres while I search for background music. It’s definitely opened my eyes up to a variety of music lately. What have you been listening to?
Continuing my vlogging challenge of a vlog a week, here is my latest video of Our Half Term Baking with the Kids. You can even see this week I actually got two vlogs up. That’s huge for me. I have two in the pipeline for you all. I am really trying to practice and get better at filming and editing too. I hope you all enjoy our little adventures as much as we do looking back on them and watching. Don’t forget to give me a thumbs up so I know you like it or not.
It’s freezing out so I have been living in scarves and boots this week. But mostly I have been wearing my new apron with the kids and baking up a storm in the kitchen, my happy place. Just wish there was more daylight lately to have taken photos of all my creations to share with you. I really need to get back on a healthier eating path. Loving to bake is a hard thing to do on a diet. We also have been constantly on the go with my mother here visiting so I haven’t had the chance to actually take some shots when I have been dressed up, sadly. I also have been wearing my MOTHER sweater from Selfish Mother. It’s my new favorite. I always buy their tops one size too big and they are so soft and so cozy. I love this one and it was perfect to get it for Mother’s Day too.
With Mother’s Day and Easter just around the corner, I not only have been baking up a storm for it but I actually got my crafting skills out too. I am not the biggest crafter in the world but I love to do projects with my Mother who is the ultimate crafter. This week we made these gorgeous bouquet of paper hyndrangeas in this gorgeous Cath Kidston vase. I love it for spring so vibrant and pretty. My Mother has taught me so much in life both big and small and I wish we lived closer together to always have craft days like this.
I have fell in love with some new lotions and potions from Storksak. I know, they do amazing bags but I didn’t know how great their Baby Lotions and Creams called Storksak Organics, truly were until we tried them out this week. As many of you know of the allergies my son, B has I have to be very careful what I put on his skin. He suffers from eczema too so I try to stick to one shampoo, wash, and lotion brand that I know works well. I researched the Storksak Organics and it’s all natural and organic and nothing to like perfumes to irritate his skin.
First impression was how great it smelled of natural flowers in a field. It reminded me of a beautiful spring morning. The suds are so soft when you are washing your little one too. My hands feel like silk afterwards as much as their skin did. We used it all week to see how B’s skin and MM’s too, dealt with it. This gorgeous set comes with hand and face wipes which are great on the go, baby balm for those rashy bottoms which during winter is a huge help for both mine even though they aren’t in diapers they still get rashy dry bottoms, Baby Shampoo and Wash which was my favorite and Baby Lotion for those lovely baby massages or after the bath. The Baby Oil is yet to be opened but will be great for this summer. I love using baby oil on the kids after swimming, it’s great to rehydrate their skin as much as the lotion will be, if there is anything left by then.
This would make such a lovely Baby Gift for someone or even yourself if you are expecting. I really loved this set and the kids’ skin feels so soft and smells fresh too. I like that they are great for traveling too. I am constantly having to pack large lotions and creams for the kids but this set is the perfect size to travel but not too small that you don’t get enough to use at home too. Storksak thought of everything here.

Wow the flowers are beautiful. What a lovely thing to do together.
I love it when you find a book you love and then can’t put down. Will have to try this one.
Thanks Carly we had so much fun with it. Me too, I am really dying for another page turner for sure. Definitely one I didn’t expect the story line but loved it.
It’s lovely your getting so much packed in whilst your mum is here! We have had no snow, I only ever like it if it’s thick and deep! Love the Cath Kidston vase and paper flowers! Gorgeous.. Have a lovely weekend xx
Ooh it has been a cold week hadn’t it – brrr. Have lovely weekend with your Mamma xxx
Its so nice to hear that your so close to your Mum! That’s so lovely. I wish I felt as close to my Mum as you do yours! I love the paper flowers, they’re so pretty!! xx
Wow so busy and how lovely to be able to share all this Mother’s Day stuff with your mum! I love the idea of baking but really am no good-it’s actually quite a giggle how bad I am! One day I’ll try again. Have a wonderful last few days with your mum x
The Storksak range looks gorgeous! I treated myself to an early Mothers Day present of a Selfish Mother oversized tee. Although it does just about fit over my bump I don’t want to stretch it too much so I’ll be saving it until babies here. It really is the softest thing ever! xx
Glad you’re having such a lovely time with your mum. Mine’s gone home already 🙁 Can’t wait til our trip back home in July to see her and the rest of my family again, it’s been 2 years since we last went back. Love your flowers and that vase, I was eyeing it up the other day! The kids are so cute in your cookie video. Have a great week x
