Christmas is just around the corner, yes I am saying it out loud and it’s Halloween on Saturday but in my house it’s always a countdown for the big festive holiday starting in October. I love everything there is about Christmas. It’s the happiest time of year for my family as we get to be together. As an expat it’s hard to not have family around all year long so I look forward to it each and every year with more excitement and joy. I love the festivities that also come with the build up to Christmas. Singing carols, baking, Christmas shopping, decorating the house, and definitely seeing Santa at his Grotto are all always on our list.
One of my favorite things to do at Christmas is to make my family Christmas present list. The one that I put deep thought into what I should buy for each family member. If you have read my blog long, you will know I love an excuse for a good family tradition too. Since the year I met my husband’s parents I have alway bought them chocolate boxes as part of their Christmas present and my parents too. Now, it’s become a little present that my kids give their grandparents to enjoy every year.
I have fallen in love with The Classic Christmas H-Box from Hotel Chocolat. It’s a heart-warming collection of 14 chocolates inspired by all your favourite winter puddings. Think Christmas Cake and Christmas Mess in mini bite sizes. Oh yes, they are mouth watering too. I think this year I might have to buy myself my own box of Christmas chocolates along side the grandparents. Each one brings out memories of Christmas past like the movie and melts in your mouth.
I quite greedily had to taste test them all, one bite at a time. I paired it with a medium coffee blend for a great afternoon to myself. I know selfish isn’t it? I sat back and read my book with the fire lit, on a gloomy day and nibbled away at the various Christmas chocolate sensations. No, I never felt guilty once about it. Sometimes it’s good to have me time and not have to share something. With two toddlers in the house, I have to share everything else. (I may have gave a few pieces half eaten to my husband, later. I am not completely cold hearted).
You can see the many layers of tart apple, walnut and cinnamon in the Apple Streusel below. It was chewy and creamy at the same time. It was one of my favourites of this chocolate box next to the caramel christmas tree. 
After taste testing each one, my conclusion was I was full of Christmas. Who doesn’t want to be full of Christmas? That warm fuzzy feeling of magic and happiness. Hotel Chocolat have a variety of other Christmas chocolate boxes and chocolate festive wreaths for all your Christmas gift needs or your personal chocolate needs too. I love a good luxury chocolate brand that create holiday chocolate boxes for you. It’s the best present to say I love you, Merry Christmas and please share.

Enjoy reading your blog when I get a chance, I’ve recently read your Movember post and the thought crossed my mind that there’s not a similar type (word in a month) charity fundraising event for women, unless of course I let my moustache grow lol and then I can join in. Of course there’s Race for Life but lots of people can’t/won’t/don’t have the time or the inclination of running. Maybe we need to get word out there somehow!
